SMARTPOINT

The minds behind the tech

SMARTPOINT is a workshop, not a counter. The people who take in your device are the people who open it, and the people who built MLK-POS are two metres away from the repair bench.

Why we started

We opened on Chaussée de Haecht because the neighbourhood kept asking the same question: is it worth repairing, or should I buy a new one? Too often the honest answer was repair it — and too often nobody was willing to say so.

So we built a workshop around one rule: diagnose first, quote second, repair only if it makes sense for you. That rule is why we do board-level work other shops send away, and why we will tell you when a device is not worth the bill.

MLK-POS came out of the same street. Shopkeepers around us were closing their day with a till that did not match, so we built a checkout system where scanning replaces typing and a cash machine handles the money. It runs in real shops in Brussels today.

  • Diagnose before we quote

You get a price and a reason, never a number without an explanation.

  • Board-level, not swap-only

We repair at component level when it is the right call, instead of replacing everything.

  • Honest about the verdict

If a repair costs more than the device is worth, we say so before you pay.

  • Built for the neighbourhood

MLK-POS exists because the shops around us needed it, not because a roadmap said so.

The team

Small team, long benches. Every device is handled by the technician who diagnosed it.

  • Repair lead

    Micro-soldering & board-level diagnostics

Handles the boards other shops return as unrepairable: charging ICs, data recovery, water damage.

  • Device technician

    Phone, tablet & drone repair

Screens, batteries, ports and flight controllers — the fast turnaround bench.

  • Systems technician

    Computer hardware & performance

Desktops and laptops: upgrades, thermal work, OS reinstalls and rescue jobs.

  • MLK-POS lead

    Checkout systems & integration

Installs MLK-POS in shops, pairs the cash machine and trains the staff who use it daily.

Still have a question?

Call the workshop or come by during opening hours — we would rather look at the device than guess.
